The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued notices to 15 Food Business Operators (FBOs) for allegedly violating provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006 by using misleading brand names, trade names, taglines, and product claims that could deceive consumers.
The regulatory action is part of FSSAI’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency in food labelling and prevent consumers from being misled by marketing terms that may create a false impression regarding the health benefits, quality, or nature of food products.

According to FSSAI, notices have been issued to the following brands and products:
- Healthy Master – “Vision to Serve Healthy”
- Neuherbs – “True Vitamin”

FSSAI has directed the concerned companies to review and modify claims that may not comply with the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations. The authority emphasized that food businesses must ensure that all claims made on packaging, labels, and advertisements are truthful, scientifically substantiated, and do not mislead consumers.
Focus on Consumer Protection
The regulator has repeatedly stressed that words such as “Healthy,” “Organic,” “Natural,” or similar promotional terms should not be used in a manner that could falsely influence consumer purchasing decisions. Food businesses are expected to provide clear and accurate information so that consumers can make informed choices.
FSSAI has advised all Food Business Operators to thoroughly review their branding, packaging, and promotional materials and ensure strict compliance with existing food safety and labelling regulations. Failure to comply may attract further regulatory action under the FSS Act, 2006.
The latest enforcement action highlights FSSAI’s continued commitment to strengthening consumer trust and improving transparency across India’s food sector.
