Swiggy has introduced a dedicated food safety helpline and a new in-app reporting channel, giving customers a direct way to raise concerns related to the safety and quality of their food orders.
Under the new initiative, customers can report food safety-related issues by calling 7948231850 or by using the newly added ‘Food Safety’ option in Swiggy’s in-app Help section.
How Customers Can Report Food Safety Concerns
Customers using the in-app channel can submit a short description of their concern and upload relevant photographs or other supporting information.
After submitting a complaint, customers will receive a ticket number, which can be used to track the status of their complaint.
Customers who report an issue through the dedicated helpline will also receive a link on their registered mobile number. Through this link, they can provide additional details and upload pictures related to their complaint.
Complaints to Be Reviewed on Priority
Swiggy said its Food Safety Assurance Team will review food safety complaints on priority and take necessary action.
The company stated that the new reporting channels will help strengthen customer feedback mechanisms and enable Swiggy to identify potential food safety gaps more effectively.
The initiative is also expected to help the company identify recurring complaints and emerging patterns related to food safety. Based on these inputs, Swiggy plans to engage with restaurant partners and work towards strengthening preventive food safety measures across its platform.
Swiggy on Strengthening Food Safety
Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace, said the company continues to work closely with its restaurant partners on food safety while also strengthening the ways customers can raise concerns.
He said customer feedback remains an important part of Swiggy’s operations and that the additional reporting channels will help the company identify and address gaps wherever they arise.
Comes Amid Increased Focus on Food Safety
Swiggy’s move comes at a time when food safety has received increased attention across India, with authorities stepping up inspections and enforcement activities.
The company said the new helpline and in-app channel are intended to provide customers with more accessible ways to report concerns while helping Swiggy strengthen its food safety processes and engagement with restaurant partners.
For customers, the initiative provides a more direct route to report food safety concerns and track their complaints, while giving Swiggy additional information to identify recurring issues and take preventive action.
