The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has taken enforcement action against several major food and beverage brands, food service establishments and online food platforms for alleged non-compliance with food safety regulations.
According to the FSSAI enforcement-action material provided, more than 150 notices were issued for issues including misleading advertisements, false claims and labelling non-compliances. The list includes major companies such as Nestlé India, Abbott India, Danone India, Mondelez India, Coca-Cola India, Ferrero India, Kenvue, PepsiCo, Red Bull India, Monster Energy India, HELL Energy, Diageo and Pernod Ricard.
Products Seized Over Regulatory Non-Compliance
The material also highlights enforcement action involving products from companies including Kenvue, PepsiCo, Red Bull India, Monster Energy India, HELL Energy, Diageo and Pernod Ricard for non-compliance with Food Safety and Standards Regulations.
In addition, 12 notices were issued to Flipkart Minutes and Amazon Now, while one Amazon warehouse licence was reportedly cancelled, according to the supplied FSSAI material.
Notices Issued to 5-Star Hotels and Restaurants
FSSAI enforcement activity also extended to high-end food service establishments. The material states that more than 20 notices were issued to food service establishments, including 5-star hotels and restaurants, during 2025.
The cited reasons included non-compliance related to calorific value disclosure and menu labelling. International hotel and hospitality operators named in the material include Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson Hotel Group, Four Seasons and Shangri-La.
Licences Suspended and Further Notices Issued
The document further states that five Domino’s licences were suspended. It also reports notices issued for 58 imported products over labelling non-compliances.
More than 30 notices were reportedly issued to food service establishments including KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Costa Coffee and McDonald’s.
