In a major crackdown on food adulteration, the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Department, in coordination with local police, raided an illegal ghee and paneer manufacturing unit in Saharanpur. The unit was found operating without a valid license and was reportedly producing and supplying dairy products such as ghee, cream, and paneer under highly questionable conditions.
During the operation, a significant quantity of suspicious dairy items was seized from the premises. Officials recovered large amounts of ghee, cream, and paneer that are believed to be substandard and potentially harmful for consumption. The seized products have been sent for laboratory testing to determine their quality and safety.
Authorities noted that the factory was functioning in complete violation of food safety norms, with no hygienic practices in place. It was also discovered that the products were being distributed in the local market without any regulatory oversight, posing a serious risk to public health.
Samples from the site have been collected and formal investigations are underway. The officials have assured that strict legal action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act based on the test results.
This raid is part of a broader effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to clamp down on food adulteration and ensure that only safe and hygienic food reaches consumers. The Food Safety Department has urged citizens to report any suspicious or unauthorized food manufacturing units in their area to help maintain public health standards.
