🚨 WE’RE HIRING | REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY & SANITATION MANAGER
Barry Callebaut is looking for an experienced professional to join its Regional AMEA Quality Team as Regional Food Safety & Sanitation Manager.
📍 Locations: Mumbai, India / Port Klang, Malaysia
🎯 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute regional Food Safety strategies aligned with regulatory and business requirements.
- Lead FSMS programs, including HACCP, EMP, allergen, microbiology, toxicology and foreign material management.
- Conduct site gap assessments, risk assessments and internal audits.
- Drive RCA, CAPA and closure of audit findings across sites.
- Provide regional expertise in Sanitation, Hygienic Design, Hygienic Zoning and Environmental Monitoring.
- Govern Food Safety CAPEX projects and prioritize investments based on risk.
- Oversee Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP) and pest management systems.
- Develop and deliver food safety training and strengthen food safety culture.
- Support crisis management, recalls and food safety incident investigations.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, R&D, Procurement and other global/regional stakeholders.
- Mentor food safety professionals and develop future leaders.
🎓 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in food safety management.
- At least 3 years of regional or multi-site leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of global food safety standards, regulatory frameworks and certification schemes such as FSSC 22000, BRC and FSMA.

- Knowledge of food microbiology and toxicology
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional and diverse teams
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally, with up to 30% travel.
