Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has entered India’s ready-to-drink dairy beverage market with the launch of Joyland flavoured milk, priced at ₹20. The product has been launched in Tamil Nadu, marking the company’s expansion into the dairy beverages segment and setting the stage for competition with established brands such as Amul, ITC, Mother Dairy and Nandini.
Joyland Flavoured Milk Launch
Joyland flavoured milk is being introduced in multiple flavours, including strawberry, vanilla and pistachio. According to the company, the product is made using authentic dairy ingredients, with a focus on quality, affordability and consumer accessibility.
Currently, the product is available only in Tamil Nadu. Reliance plans to use the launch as the starting point for developing a broader dairy beverages portfolio and progressively expanding its presence across India.
T Krishnakumar, Director of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, stated that entering the ready-to-drink dairy market represents an important step in expanding the company’s product portfolio and offering consumers more choices.
He added that Joyland aims to combine authentic dairy ingredients, quality and affordability, with Tamil Nadu serving as the starting point for the brand’s expansion.
Reliance Expands Its FMCG Portfolio
The launch follows Reliance’s entry into the soft drink market with Campa, which was introduced at competitive price points to challenge established beverage companies such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
With Joyland, Reliance is extending its strategy into dairy-based beverages, a segment that offers opportunities to attract consumers through affordable pricing and a variety of flavours.
The entry could intensify competition in the flavoured milk category, where established dairy cooperatives and packaged food companies already have a presence.
India’s Flavoured Milk Market Continues to Grow
According to the Euromonitor figures cited in the report, India’s flavoured milk market is projected to grow by approximately 10% year-on-year in 2026.
The market is estimated to increase from ₹7,600 crore in 2025 to ₹8,360 crore in 2026. Its valuation stood at ₹4,420 crore in 2021, indicating substantial expansion over the past five years.
The growth reflects increasing opportunities in the ready-to-drink dairy beverage segment, where product variety, affordability and convenience are important factors for consumers.
What This Means for the Dairy Industry
Reliance’s entry could increase competitive pressure on existing flavoured milk manufacturers, particularly in pricing, distribution and product innovation. The ₹20 price point positions Joyland as an accessible beverage option, although its long-term market performance will depend on consumer acceptance, product quality and distribution reach.
The company’s planned expansion beyond Tamil Nadu will be an important factor in determining how significantly Joyland influences the national dairy beverage market.
