Position: Assistant Manager Quality – Private Label Organic Staples
Location: Bangalore
Job Summary: The Lead Quality will oversee and manage quality assurance for all private label food products (FMCG Foods & Staples) across the region, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to maintain and improve product quality and compliance.
The Lead Quality will also manage supplier audits and the onboarding of new suppliers for private label food products (FMCG Foods & Staples), ensuring all suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This includes facilitating supplier development and maintaining strong relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 4+ folks (Quality Associates and Executives), ensuring end-to-end quality operations in the supply chain for Private Label food products, including staples and FMCG items.
- Oversee quality control from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch at 3P suppliers for both staples and FMCG products.
- Work and interact daily with 3P suppliers, prioritizing team visits to ensure effective quality clearances of Private Label products.
- Coordinate regularly with the corporate QA team on projects related to quality, food safety, and efficiency improvements.
- Conduct market visits for preliminary quality checks of staples, providing necessary feedback to the category team.
- Perform pre-assessment quality and food safety audits of 3P supplier facilities before onboarding new suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory criteria.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Travel to multiple 3P supplier locations within and outside the city for quality inspections and problem-solving.
- Develop and implement a food safety, regulatory, and quality strategic plan for Private Label food products, aligned with the corporate strategic plan.
- Ensure quality documentation for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods meets quality and food safety requirements.
- Handle customer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct and document mock recalls at defined frequencies, ensuring the implementation of traceability procedures.
- Identify areas for improvement in food safety, quality, and product consistency, driving positive impacts on quality and business metrics.
- Continuously train the QA team through knowledge sharing and follow-up.
- Provide ongoing guidance to the Supplier Quality Team to ensure product compliance with specifications and standards.
Key Skills:
- Capable of handling, auditing, and evaluating 3rd party product manufacturers/re-packers, and monitoring product quality customer metrics.
- Knowledgeable in FMCG foods and staples projects from development to implementation.
- Ability to develop and lead projects independently.
- Strong technical knowledge of regulatory requirements for products, packing materials, and labels.
- Proficient in certifications, FSSAI, LM, and labeling guidelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Skilled in utilizing and critically evaluating data to identify root causes and lead teams to resolutions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with varied audiences.
- Self-motivated and able to perform with minimal supervision.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Effective team player who consistently achieves results and demonstrates strong organizational skills.

Qualifications:
- BE /B.Tech/B.Sc/M.Sc/ M.tech –Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Processing Engineering/ Agriculture (Any UG/PG related to Food)
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry, preferably with private label products.
- FSSC 22000 / BRC Lead Auditor certification is an added advantage.
- Should have Good Knowledge on Data analysis & Excel, Word, PPT. law”
