In a major enforcement action against food adulteration, the Madhya Pradesh Food Safety Department uncovered a serious case of illegal food processing and storage in Neemuch district. During the raid, officials reportedly found highly toxic and hazardous chemical substances, including non-edible sulphur and hydra chemicals, being stored inside a local food unit.
According to authorities, these dangerous substances were allegedly being used illegally to manipulate and falsify food quality, posing a severe threat to public health and consumer safety.
During the inspection, officials also recovered substandard quality Methidana (Fenugreek) and Dhaniya (Coriander) from the premises. The department immediately sealed the entire facility to prevent further misuse and contamination.
As part of the investigation, food safety teams collected 8 critical samples of products including:
- Methidana (Fenugreek)
- Dhaniya (Coriander)
- Ajwain
- Kalonji
The collected samples have been sent for detailed laboratory analysis to determine the extent of adulteration and possible violations under food safety regulations.
Officials stated that strict legal action will be initiated based on the laboratory findings. The raid highlights the government’s increasing focus on curbing food adulteration and ensuring safer food products for consumers across the state.
The Food Safety Department continues to intensify inspections and enforcement drives against unethical food practices to protect public health and maintain food quality standards.
