Vadilal was set up when ice cream wasn’t even an industry. From selling sodas in 1907, Vadilal has travelled through four generations of Gandhis. Initially, the founder Vadilal Gandhi used to make ice cream by the traditional Kothi method, using a hand-operated machine to churn milk with other ingredients, ice and salt. Home delivery was also offered back then, with ice creams packed in thermocol boxes. Vadilal Gandhi who started the soda fountain,passed on the business to his son, Ranchod Lal Gandhi , who ran a one-man operation, and, with a hand cranked machine, started a small retail outlet in 1926.

We have an opportunity for “Senior Manager /Deputy General Manager- Production” at Pundhra (Gujarat)Location.

Exp.: Min 15 years Ice cream and Dairy Only


  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Dairy Technology or Food Technology.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Product knowledge of Ice Creams, frozen foods and milk based products; Commitment to Quality of products from perspective of consumers, Food safety and regulatory compliances; Adherence to basics of manufacturing excellence with full engagement and learning culture within team members, teamworking with stakeholders like R&D- quality- engineering- HR- logistics- purchase- costing- MIS, production planning and control.

Job Description:

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for various Production lines (Ice creams/Paneer/ Shrikhand / Sweets)
  • Responsible for documentation updating e.g. SOP, work instructions, visual standards, Technical Data.
  • Training, Competence & Skill development based on process SOPs, Standards and HR led initiatives, both for supervisory staff and shop floor workmen.
  • Ensuring compliance to HACCP, GMP, CIP/ SIP, production as per BOM with correct dosing of ingredients.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards e.g. ISO, BRC, HALAL, HACCP, GMP and FSSAI, internal audit requirements.
  • Actively participate in R&D related development projects and product improvement benchmarking with competition.
  • Ensure adherence to planned production achievement including semi-finished goods and packaging materials.
  • Ensure that quality issues for raw, packaging materials and other consumables are timely escalated to quality and purchase teams and followed up for closure of such gaps.
  • Work closely with factory engineering, Quality, HR, Stores, Logistics, Cold Stores, Safety to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure equipment preventive maintenance and periodic calibration to minimize recurring technical issues.
  • Optimizing manufacturing costs and process improvement.
  • Should be ready to sign a bond.
