This role will require extensive knowledge and previous experience in descriptive sensory studies, and senior level client and project management. You will be responsible for handling sensory projects throughout all stages.
This varied role will allow you to work with different internal MMR functions and to develop a wider skillset in other functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
📆 Manage multiple projects, prioritizing and managing schedules, costs and resources to meet client expectations.
🤝 Establish and drive client relationships, building trust and demonstrating expertise.
💡 Come up with creative solutions to meet clients’ challenges and input into MMR’s future sensory development and growth.
📝 Design research methodologies and write proposals.
👥 Attend client meetings and presentations, taking an active role in product tasting, immersion sessions and debriefs.
👩🏫 Train and supervise more junior members of the team.
✅ Adhere to company procedures, ensuring high quality operations and client relations.
Sensory Panel Leadership and Consultancy:
📈 Support the Panel Leaders to ensure the consistent delivery of high quality descriptive analysis data.
🎓 Assist with the sales, planning and delivery of sensory consultancy services, including the recruitment and training of panelists, and analyzing performance data.
📊 Occasionally run panel sessions when Panel Leaders are absent.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A degree with around 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field such as Food Science, Sensory Science, Experimental Psychology or Sociology.
- Sensory project management experience with advanced research design and analysis capabilities.
- Confident working autonomously with clients to build strong relationships, clarify objectives, and ensure projects are executed to the highest standard.
- Experience in panel leading sensory descriptive panels (sensory data capture software is beneficial).
- A self-manager – able to switch between tasks according to business needs, coping with changing priorities and keeping India sensory team members informed of possible issues.
- A strong team player – able to maintain open and honest relationships with colleagues, building trust and confidence. You will need to be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-starter who likes to take initiatives and demonstrates flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- A real passion for working in sensory research.
- Critical thinking skills and solution focused attitude with a creative flair.
- Great attention to detail – should be able to check own work and others’ work for inconsistencies and take the necessary action to rectify any errors/problems.
