The Rajasthan Food Safety Department has intensified its food quality monitoring drive by temporarily restricting the sale and display of 17 food products after laboratory tests reportedly detected safety and quality concerns.
According to officials, the action has been taken under food safety regulations to protect consumers and ensure stricter compliance across the food industry. The restricted products include ghee, namkeen, papad, tea, turmeric, roasted gram, sauces, and other packaged food items from multiple manufacturers across India.
4 Products Officially Banned for Specific Batches
Food Safety Commissioner T. Shubhamangala confirmed that four products and their specific batches have been banned for two months following adverse laboratory findings:
- Papad manufactured by Happy, Pooja Papad Bhandar, Bikaner
- “All in One Namkeen” manufactured by Bikaji Foods International, Bikaner
- Roasted Chana manufactured by Kitchen King, Dabra (Gwalior)
- Bilona Ghee manufactured by Shri Anu Milk Products Limited, VKIA Jaipur
Other Products Flagged During Investigation
The department also identified several additional products that reportedly failed quality parameters during testing. These include:
- Black Pepper manufactured by Firm Avenue Supermart (D-Mart Premia), Maharashtra
- Green Chilli Sauce “Charlie” manufactured by M/s Balaji Food, Hisar
- Cow Ghee “Mahavir” and Kesar Cream Premium from M/s Mahavir Food, Banaskantha
- “Madhu Saras” Ghee manufactured by M/s Mateshwari Food, Maharashtra
- “Purever” Ghee manufactured by M/s Balaji Food, Rajkot
- “Shubh Saras” Ghee manufactured by M/s Girdhar Milk Food, Panipat
- Madhu Saras Ghee (1 Litre Pack) manufactured by M/s Bal Gopal Dairy, Kota
- Madhu Saras Ghee (500 ml Pack) manufactured by M/s Avery Dairy Traders, Bawana Industrial Area
- Dairy Bright Ghee manufactured by M/s Avery Dairy Traders, Bawana Industrial Area
Authorities Notify Other States for Further Action
Officials stated that food safety departments in the respective manufacturing states have also been informed for further investigation and regulatory action wherever necessary. The move reflects increasing coordination among state food safety authorities to strengthen monitoring of packaged food products in the market.
