Job description
Role Objective
- Serve as singular point of contact (SPOC) for operations and issues pertaining to product quality, food safety and production efficiency
- Serve as HACCP team lead and set up the production facility to be eligible for HACCP & FSSC22000 certification
- Build a process oriented culture of ‘continuous improvement’ to ensure targets related to the following are achieved:
- Production capacity & productivity targets
- Customer satisfaction in product quality & delivery
- Food safety, hygiene and GMP
- Maintenance efficacy
- Employee satisfaction
Areas of Responsibility
Production
- Ensure purchase orders received from customers (outlets, institutions, etc.) are delivered on time following all set procedures
- Plan and schedule weekly production ensuring raw materials are stocked and resource allocated efficiently (raw materials, labels, packaging available & stocked, staffing allocated, etc.)
- Build efficiency & productivity in production capacity through complete understanding of daily activities & demand forecasting through communication with relevant stakeholders
- Follow through delegated responsibilities to supervisors and workers are carried out in a proficient manner
- Ensure customer issues related to delivery, quality, complains are resolved promptly
Quality & Safety
- Ensure GMP, food safety & hygiene are enforced in all areas of factory
- Assist with drafting, training, implementing & enforcing Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain an up to date product specification sheet for all products
- Maintain supplier specification & testing records
- Active part of HACCP team to ensure accreditation and implementation timelines are met
- Identify gaps in food safety & hygiene through regular mock recalls & internal audits and set measures & controls to ensure gaps are filled
- Assist with presenting root cause analysis & preventive methods to management when issues related to quality, safety, hygiene & productivity arise
- Liaises with external auditors to ensure activities are explained and non conformances are resolved promptly & effectively
Supervision & Training
- Provide training to staff in all areas to ensure productivity targets are achieved, food safety, GMP & hygiene is followed
- Complete hands on understanding of all unit operations pertaining to production & factory and train staff
Testing
- Ensure analytical tests for raw materials and finished goods are performed for every batch
Maintenace
- Ensure all equipment are functioning through implementing periodic maintenance duties
- Coordinate with maintenance & service teams to promptly resolve breakdowns
Reporting
- Report daily report to the Factory Manager at the end of every day
Education & Experience
- B.Tech in Food Science & Technology or related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in a production planning, QA, QC role preferably in an industrial bakery.
- Proven successful experience in food safety programs is essential
