NIFTEM-K Partners with Massey University
The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Massey University, New Zealand, to strengthen international collaboration in food technology, research, innovation, and higher education.
The agreement was signed on July 2, 2026, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India.
The signing ceremony was attended by A. P. Das Joshi, Secretary, MoFPI, Devesh Deval, Joint Secretary, MoFPI, and a senior delegation from NIFTEM-K led by Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K.
Key Objectives of the MoU
The partnership aims to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two institutions and create opportunities for innovation in the food processing sector.
The collaboration will focus on:
- Joint research projects in food technology and food processing
- Collaborative applications for national and international research funding
- Exchange of faculty members, researchers, and academic experts
- Student exchange and mobility programmes
- Participation in seminars, workshops, conferences, and academic meetings
- Promotion of innovation and knowledge sharing in food science and technology
Both institutions will appoint dedicated coordinators to ensure smooth implementation and monitoring of collaborative activities.

Five-Year Agreement
The Memorandum of Understanding will remain valid for five years from the date of the final signature. The agreement may be extended for another five years with the mutual consent of both institutions.
The MoU also includes provisions to protect the intellectual property rights of both parties while providing a flexible framework for future academic and research collaborations.
