The CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, a premier laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a temporary contractual basis.

• Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
• Number of Vacancies: 01
• Monthly Fellowship: ₹37,000 + HRA

⏳ Project Duration:
The initial appointment will be up to March 2027 and may be extended until May 2028 or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier, based on performance and project requirements.
🎓 Essential Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
• M.Sc. in Food Science & Nutrition OR M.Sc. in Food & Nutrition
AND
• A valid qualification in any national-level eligibility examination such as:
- CSIR-UGC NET (JRF/LS)
- DBT
- DST
- Any equivalent examination conducted by Central Government departments, agencies, or institutions
⚠️ Candidates awaiting final results or currently in the final semester are not eligible to apply.
🧪 Job Requirements:
Candidates should have expertise in:
✔️ Product development
✔️ Nutritional analysis
✔️ In-vitro studies
✔️ In-vivo studies
⭐ Desirable Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
• Product development
• Micronutrient fortification
• Animal experiments
🎯 Age Limit:
Maximum age: 35 years as on 28 June 2026
Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules:
• SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
📋 Important Eligibility Condition:
As per CSIR guidelines, the total tenure of a candidate engaged as project staff across all CSIR laboratories/institutes must not exceed six years.
Candidates who have already completed six years as project staff in any CSIR laboratory are not eligible to apply.
