At Ugraya Agro Farms, we embrace the rich heritage and profound significance of agriculture that dates back thousands of years. The journey of farming began around 7000 BCE when agricultural practices spread from the Fertile Crescent to the Indus Valley, and essential crops like wheat and barley were cultivated. In India, the cultivation of turmeric, cardamom, black pepper, and mustard commenced around 3000 BCE, adding a delightful blend of flavors to our culinary traditions.
The connection between farming and spirituality has been deeply ingrained in various religions and mythologies. Cattle, particularly cows, hold a sacred status in prominent world religions such as Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, and others. The earth-goddess Prithvi, in the form of a cow, is believed to have bestowed altruistic substances to benefit humankind during times of famine. One of the most revered manifestations of the sacred cow is Kamadhenu, the miraculous “cow of plenty” and “mother of cows” in Hindu mythology. Kamadhenu is symbolically associated with prosperity and abundance. Similarly, in Zoroastrianism, the cow is considered the spirit of the earth, and its urine, known as “gōmēz,” is regarded as a powerful purifier. The convergence of these ancient cultures, Hinduism and Zoroastrianism, finds expression in the name “Vashishti.”
It represents a harmonious amalgamation of beliefs and practices that celebrate the sacredness of nature and the bounties it bestows upon us. At Ugraya Agro Farms, we cherish and honour this timeless wisdom, cultivating our produce with the utmost care and respect for nature’s blessings. Our commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices ensures that you receive products of the highest quality, imbued with the essence of centuries-old traditions. Join us in this journey of tradition, taste, and wellbeing, as we continue to nurture the spirit of the land and offer you the finest nature has to offer.
