Assistant Manager R&D Job Opening
Pyramid Wilmar is hiring for the position of Assistant Manager – R&D in the FMCG industry.
Position: Assistant Manager – R&D
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead product development and formulation projects for edible oils, fats, margarine, shortening, spreads and related food products
- Conduct laboratory, pilot-scale and production trials
- Develop and optimize formulations based on customer requirements, market trends, cost targets and quality standards
- Troubleshoot product and process-related issues with cross-functional teams
- Evaluate raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and supplier specifications
- Conduct sensory evaluations, stability studies and physical and chemical analyses
- Support cost optimization and product reformulation
- Prepare technical reports, product specifications and management recommendations
- Coordinate R&D projects from concept development through commercialization
- Support technology upgrades, process improvements and automation initiatives
- Mentor junior team members and interns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Research & Development within the food manufacturing industry
- Experience with edible oils, fats, margarine, shortening, spreads or related products is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of food formulation, product development, food safety, quality systems and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical reporting skills
- Good planning, organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
