IThe Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Department (#UPFDA) has stepped up its fight against food adulteration with a major inspection drive in Kanpur. The move comes as part of the state government’s mission to safeguard public health and ensure that consumers get access to clean, hygienic, and safe food products.
During the surprise raids conducted across multiple localities of Kanpur, food safety officers collected 26 food samples ranging from packaged items to loose consumables. These samples have been sent to accredited laboratories for thorough testing. Based on the test reports, strict action will be taken against violators who are found guilty of compromising food quality and safety standards.
Officials highlighted that such drives are being carried out regularly to identify malpractices like adulteration, use of banned ingredients, misbranding, and poor hygiene in food preparation. The department has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance towards adulteration, as such practices not only cheat consumers but also pose serious health risks.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has also stressed the importance of collective responsibility. While the government and regulatory authorities ensure enforcement, consumers are urged to stay alert, report suspicious products, and prioritize safe food in their daily lives.
With increasing public awareness campaigns and stronger monitoring, authorities believe that consistent action will deter offenders and encourage businesses to maintain quality standards.
