Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh: In a major boost to local industry and rural employment, Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited and Mother Dairy are all set to establish their processing units in Kuppam, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s home constituency in Chittoor district.
The announcement followed a detailed meeting between the CM and representatives of the two companies at his new residence in Kuppam on Monday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister shared the outcome of the meeting, calling it a step towards achieving “zero poverty” and aligning with his vision of Swarna Andhra.
As part of the plan, Shreeja Milk Producers Organisation will set up a dairy and an animal feed processing unit, while Mother Dairy will establish a fruit pulp processing unit. The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted land in Kuppam for these industrial units.
“These initiatives will generate employment for around 8,000 people,” CM Naidu stated, expressing confidence that the new projects will strengthen the rural economy by directly sourcing milk and horticultural produce from local farmers. He added that this will significantly enhance farmers’ incomes while ensuring inclusive growth in the region.
The projects are expected to be grounded within the next 18 months. Both investments are part of a broader development strategy under the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA), focusing on inclusive and sustainable development.
This move is seen as a strategic push to transform Kuppam into a hub for agro-based industries and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s dairy and food processing sectors.
