Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has expanded its Independence biscuit portfolio with the launch of nine new variants across 28 SKUs, marking another significant step in the company’s packaged food ambitions.
The expansion reflects Reliance’s growing focus on India’s affordable biscuit market, where established players such as Britannia, Parle and ITC have built a strong presence.
The newly introduced biscuit variants cater to different consumer preferences, covering glucose, cream, chocolate, butter, milk and other popular biscuit categories.
The nine new variants include:
- Independence Power Up
- Independence Milky Power
- Independence Butter Bliss
- Independence Marie Prime
- Independence Coco Bourbon
- Independence Coco Vanilla & Chocolate
- Independence CremYum Orange
- Independence CremYum Choco
- Independence Glucose Boost
Affordable Pricing Strategy
Reliance is positioning its Independence biscuit portfolio with an affordable pricing strategy to attract consumers across different purchasing segments.
The pricing structure includes:
- ₹5 packs for entry-level consumers
- ₹10 sharing packs
- Larger packs priced between ₹40 and ₹125
Through multiple pack sizes and price points, the company aims to make its products accessible to a wider consumer base while strengthening its position in the highly competitive biscuit category.
Initial Launch in Tamil Nadu
The initial rollout of the expanded Independence biscuit portfolio began in Tamil Nadu on November 2, 2026, with plans for gradual expansion into other markets.
Tamil Nadu is an important market for RCPL’s biscuit business, and the company is focusing on strengthening its manufacturing and distribution capabilities to support its expansion plans.
Reliance Joins Hands with Ajith Kumar Racing
The launch of Independence Power Up is also supported by Reliance Consumer Products Limited’s brand association with Ajith Kumar Racing.
The association aims to strengthen product visibility and consumer awareness in Tamil Nadu by connecting the product’s positioning with the performance-driven image of motorsport.
By leveraging this association, RCPL is looking to create stronger brand recognition for its Power Up range and attract consumer attention in the competitive biscuit market.
The company has also highlighted Tamil Nadu as a key market for its biscuit business, with increased production capacity expected to support expansion plans and help widen consumer reach across the state.
Intensifying Competition in India’s Biscuit Market
India’s biscuit market is highly competitive, with established companies such as Britannia, Parle and ITC commanding significant consumer recognition and distribution networks.
Reliance’s expanding Independence portfolio brings its retail ecosystem, manufacturing capabilities and growing FMCG distribution network into this competition.
However, gaining meaningful market share will require more than launching new products at competitive prices. Product quality, distribution reach, consumer preferences and repeat purchases will play an important role in determining the success of the expanded portfolio.
With nine new variants across 28 SKUs, affordable pricing and a marketing association with Ajith Kumar Racing, Reliance is strengthening its push into India’s packaged biscuit segment.
The expansion signals increasing competition in the affordable biscuit market and adds another dimension to the growing battle among India’s leading FMCG companies.
