Global food and beverage giant PepsiCo has announced plans to invest nearly ₹5,700 crore in India by 2030 as part of its long-term expansion strategy in one of its fastest-growing markets.
The investment will focus on strengthening the company’s food and beverage manufacturing capabilities, expanding production capacity, and improving supply chain infrastructure across the country. The move highlights PepsiCo’s growing confidence in the Indian market and rising consumer demand for packaged snacks and beverages.
According to company officials, the investment will include both greenfield and brownfield projects, with major developments planned in states such as Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Tamil Nadu.
One of the key projects includes a concentrates manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh, while Assam and Tamil Nadu are expected to receive large-scale snack production facilities. These units are likely to boost PepsiCo’s snacks portfolio, including popular brands such as Lay’s, Kurkure, and Doritos.
PepsiCo India CEO Jagrut Kotecha stated that India continues to be one of the company’s most important growth markets globally. Rising disposable incomes, changing food habits, and increasing demand for convenience foods are driving strong growth for the company in India.
The company has also reported strong financial performance in the Indian market, with revenue nearing ₹9,800 crore and profits crossing ₹900 crore. PepsiCo’s foods division reportedly witnessed double-digit growth during the last financial year.
Apart from expanding manufacturing, PepsiCo is also focusing on healthier product offerings and digital growth strategies. The company plans to strengthen its portfolio of zero-sugar beverages and improve its online and quick-commerce presence in India.
Industry experts believe the investment could generate significant employment opportunities, support local sourcing, and further strengthen India’s food processing and FMCG sectors.
The announcement reflects the increasing importance of India as a strategic manufacturing and consumption hub for global food and beverage companies.
