Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Science Officer (CSO) to join our executive team. The CSO will be responsible for leading our research and development initiatives, ensuring the scientific integrity of our products, and guiding the company’s overall scientific strategy. This role requires a strong background in nutritional science, a proven track record of leading scientific research teams, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement the company’s scientific strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists, nutritionists, and researchers in the development of innovative, evidence-based nutritional products and solutions.
3. Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of clinical trials, ensuring scientific rigor and compliance with all applicable regulations.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory agencies.
5. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company’s scientific research and product claims, ensuring accurate and transparent communication to consumers, healthcare professionals, and the scientific community.
6. Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging trends and advances in nutritional science, identifying new opportunities for product development and strategic growth.
7. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence within the research and development team.
8. Collaborate with other members of the executive team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, ensuring that scientific research supports the company’s mission and business objectives.

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. in Nutritional Science, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in research and development within the nutrition or food industry, with a strong track record of successful product development.
3. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of scientists and researchers.
4. Demonstrated success in designing, executing, and analyzing clinical trials, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical considerations.
5. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
6. Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to evidence-based decision-making.
7. Familiarity with current trends and emerging research in nutritional science, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of innovative products and solutions.
