In a major move to safeguard public health, the Food Safety Department has launched a state-wide enforcement drive to ensure the purity and quality of edible oils across Uttar Pradesh.
The special inspection campaign targeted manufacturing units and supply chains to curb the circulation of adulterated or substandard edible oil in the market.
Key Enforcement Highlights
- 64 manufacturing units inspected across Uttar Pradesh
- 4,16,494 liters of suspicious edible oil seized
- Seized stock valued at approximately ₹6.43 crore
- 206 samples collected for urgent laboratory testing
- 37 notices issued for non-compliance with food safety standards
Officials confirmed that strict monitoring is being conducted at every stage — from production and processing to packaging and distribution — to prevent unsafe edible oils from reaching consumers.

The department has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against adulteration and warned that stringent action will be taken against violators under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
Authorities have also urged consumers to purchase edible oils from trusted and licensed brands and report any suspected food adulteration to local food safety offices.
This intensified enforcement reflects the government’s commitment to protecting consumer health and maintaining transparency in the food supply chain.
