In a major enforcement action, the food safety team in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, sealed a paneer manufacturing factory after finding serious violations of food safety and hygiene norms. The action was taken following an inspection that revealed the factory was producing paneer under highly unsafe and unhygienic conditions.
During the inspection, officials observed poor sanitation across the manufacturing premises. Raw milk and other ingredients were stored improperly, and basic cleanliness protocols were not being followed. The production area lacked hygiene, and workers were found handling food without necessary protective measures, posing a serious risk to consumer health.
The food safety team immediately seized unsafe paneer along with several other food items found at the site. Preliminary findings suggested that the paneer was being supplied to local markets, which could have put a large number of consumers at risk. As a precautionary measure, the factory was sealed on the spot, and further legal action has been initiated.
Samples of the seized products have been sent to the laboratory for detailed testing to check for quality, contamination, and compliance with prescribed food safety standards. Based on the test reports, strict action will be taken against the violators as per the law.
FSSAI and the state food safety department have reiterated their commitment to ensuring safe and hygienic food for the public. Citizens are advised to purchase milk and dairy products only from licensed and trusted sources and to report any suspected food adulteration or unsafe practices to the authorities.
This action highlights the ongoing efforts of the food safety department to protect public health and enforce food safety regulations across the state.
