New Delhi, September 23, 2025 – Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, today unveiled the logo and brochures of the Global Food Regulators Summit (GFRS) 2025 at Nirman Bhawan. The event, hosted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, will take place on September 26–27, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, alongside World Food India 2025 organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).
Theme and Vision
This year’s theme, “Evolving Food Systems – Yatha Annam Tatha Manah”, highlights the deep connection between food quality and overall well-being. Shri Nadda emphasized that food is more than nourishment—it shapes physical health, mental balance, emotional stability, and social harmony.
He stressed the need for a multi-dimensional approach to food safety, noting that regulators must stay updated with changing food habits, market dynamics, and evolving global standards.
Summit Highlights
GFRS 2025 aims to:
- Provide a global platform for regulators to share perspectives and harmonize standards.
- Strengthen risk assessment capacities and explore technological advancements in food safety.
- Protect consumer health while promoting fair trade, innovation, and sustainable food systems.
The summit will include keynote addresses from international organizations, technical and plenary sessions, bilateral and multilateral meetings, and stakeholder interactions. Its structure comprises eight plenary sessions and several high-level parallel conclaves focusing on forward-looking food safety regulations.
Launch of ‘Eat Right Thali’ Book
A key feature of the event will be the unveiling of the ‘Eat Right Thali’ book by FSSAI, showcasing traditional thalis from across Indian states. Each thali highlights local ingredients and dietary wisdom, underlining the role of traditional diets in preventing lifestyle diseases such as obesity. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call to celebrate India’s culinary heritage while promoting mindful, indigenous eating habits.
Global Participation
The summit will bring together stakeholders from ministries, international organizations like WHO, Codex, FAO, and EFSA, national institutions, and research bodies. Building on the success of its two previous editions, GFRS 2025 reinforces India’s position as a hub for global food safety initiatives and regulatory dialogue.
With its collaborative platform, GFRS 2025 is expected to pave the way for safer, more resilient, and inclusive food systems worldwide.
