🔹 Position: Assistant Plant Head
🏭 Department: Fruits & Vegetables (F&V) Processing Unit
📍 Location: Abohar, Punjab
👤 Reporting To: Plant Head
Role Objective:
Drive end-to-end plant operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability. Lead teams, optimize resources, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and statutory standards while aligning operations with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1️⃣ Operational Leadership
• Manage complete plant operations: processing, packaging, storage & dispatch
• Ensure production targets with high efficiency & minimal downtime
• Drive continuous improvement & process optimization
2️⃣ Production Management
• Plan and execute production strategies
• Monitor daily output & implement corrective actions
• Optimize use of raw materials, utilities & machinery
3️⃣ Quality Assurance & Food Safety
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, ISO standards
• Maintain strong QA/QC systems
• Handle non-conformities, complaints & CAPA
4️⃣ Manpower & Industrial Relations
• Lead workforce planning & productivity management
• Maintain discipline & positive industrial relations
• Identify training needs & build team capabilities
5️⃣ Maintenance & Engineering
• Ensure preventive & breakdown maintenance
• Coordinate with engineering teams for upgrades
• Improve equipment reliability & uptime
6️⃣ Supply Chain & Inventory Control
• Maintain optimal inventory levels
• Reduce wastage, losses & pilferage
• Coordinate logistics for smooth material flow
7️⃣ Financial & Cost Management
• Control plant operating costs
• Manage budgets with finance teams
• Drive cost efficiency without compromising quality
8️⃣ Compliance & Governance
• Ensure statutory, environmental & safety compliance
• Maintain audit readiness & documentation
9️⃣ Reporting & Coordination
• Report plant performance to leadership
• Prepare MIS reports (production, quality, finance)
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams
Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology / Food Processing / Mechanical Engineering
• MBA (Operations/Production) – Added Advantage
Experience Required:
• 12–15 years in food processing industry
• Minimum 5 years in leadership role
• Experience in Fruits & Vegetables processing preferred
