About the Role:
Mars Petcare is hiring a Food Safety Management Systems Lead to drive the governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of Food Safety Management Systems across its global Pet Nutrition operations.
The role will work across 65+ manufacturing sites, Pet & Innovation Centres, regional teams, and corporate stakeholders to strengthen food safety systems and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global deployment and governance of FSSC 22000
- Drive compliance with HACCP, GMP, Food Fraud and Food Defence programmes
- Monitor food safety performance, risks, opportunities, and action plans
- Develop food safety standards, processes, and documentation
- Support external certification audits and technical food safety assessments
- Deliver training, coaching, and food safety capability-building programmes
- Support digital transformation initiatives related to food safety compliance
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, and Corporate teams
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Food Safety Management Systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 and preferably FSSC 22000
- Experience leading cross-functional projects in global organisations
- Auditing experience in HACCP, GMP, ISO or FSSC 22000 environments
- Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
- Knowledge of risk management, continuous improvement, and programme governance
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Preferred Qualification:
🎓 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, or a related discipline
