The special operation focused on food businesses associated with major e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, including Blinkit, Amazon, Zepto, Flipkart, and other online delivery networks.
To ensure effective monitoring and enforcement, Food Safety Officers from multiple districts were deployed across the city to inspect food storage facilities, distribution hubs, and associated food business operators.

According to the department, the rapid growth of e-commerce and quick-commerce food delivery services has increased the need for stronger regulatory oversight to ensure that food products reaching consumers remain safe and compliant with established standards.
The Karnataka Food Safety Department reaffirmed its commitment to consumer protection and stated that such inspection drives will continue across the state to strengthen enforcement mechanisms and improve accountability within the online food delivery ecosystem.
Officials emphasized that consumer safety remains a top priority and urged all food business operators to strictly adhere to food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and quality.
As online food ordering continues to grow, regular inspections and strict enforcement actions are expected to play a crucial role in ensuring that food delivered to consumers’ doorsteps meets the highest safety standards.
