Mount Everest Breweries Ltd. (MEBL) has officially entered Karnataka, marking its 12th state of operations and reinforcing its ambition to expand to 20 states by the end of FY26. The company has acquired Cheers Breweries Ltd., a Mysuru-based facility with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million hectolitres. This strategic acquisition is projected to contribute an incremental revenue of Rs 350–400 crore by FY28, translating into 15–18% topline growth over the next 3–4 years.
The acquisition, funded through internal accruals and structured debt, involved a total investment of around Rs 300 crore, covering acquisition costs, capex, and working capital. With production at the Mysuru plant commencing in the first week of September, MEBL’s overall capacity has scaled from 2.0 million to 3.5 million hectolitres—an increase of nearly 75%.
This expansion supports MEBL’s strategy of developing four key brewery hubs across India, ensuring reduced logistics dependence on central and northern plants and faster time-to-market in Karnataka, Pondicherry, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala by the end of Q3 FY26.

Having shaped beer culture in Central India for over two decades, we are now excited to bring that legacy and innovation to Karnataka’s evolving landscape.”
With this expansion, MEBL not only strengthens its footprint in South India but also accelerates its long-term goal of achieving an 8% national market share by 2030.
