Job Overview:
The microbiologist will be responsible for conducting the testing, and analysis of microorganisms in food material (Spices & its oleoresins) and swab analysis. This position plays a critical role in advancing scientific knowledge and ensuring food safety in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Laboratory Research: Conduct experiments and investigations to study microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
• Sample Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze samples from various sources (e.g., water, food, and swab) to identify and classify microorganisms.
• Data Recording & Interpretation: Document experimental results, maintain lab records, and analyze data to draw conclusions and present findings.
• Quality Control: Perform quality control tests on products and materials to detect contamination or to ensure the safety of food.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including chemists and production team to develop new products, improve processes and control cross contamination.
• Reporting & Documentation: Updating laboratory documents as per its frequency and releasing on time reports, and present findings to manager.
• Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant standards and environmental regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Microbiology or biotechnology.
• Proven experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of microbial techniques such as culturing, staining, and microscopy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials and follow strict safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• SAP knowledge is added advantage.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO).
Working Conditions:
• Work in laboratory environments with potential exposure to biological hazards.
• May require work in sterile environments or controlled settings.
• Some positions may involve fieldwork to collect food and environmental samples.
