Job Description:
As an Food Safety Manager, primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborating in the development and execution of a Food Safety Road Map for Flipkart Marketplace, ensuring comprehensive food safety measures from start to finish, aligning with business objectives, and meeting customer expectations.
- Working closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure 100% compliance of our supplier/seller base with food safety standards and regulations.
- Demonstrating expertise in legal requirements related to FSSAI and Legal Metrology regulations, Packaging Standards, and Food Categorization Codes.
- Addressing and resolving urgent issues with regulatory agencies as they arise.
- Designing and implementing various food safety training programs, including Food Security, Traceability, Recalls, Crisis Management, Sanitation, Storage, Food Cross Contamination Prevention, and Safe Food Handling to foster a culture of food safety awareness.
- Establishing and maintaining a Food Safety Risk Management system to effectively control risks in accordance with current requirements, especially adhering to HACCP standards.
- Ensuring the consistent implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), such as FIFO (First In, First Out), inventory management, and proper product labeling throughout all aspects of the business, including seller national brands.
- Overseeing Pest Control, Fumigation, and Cold Chain Programs, conducting regular validation and verification to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Leading the development of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including their writing, revision, and approval, to ensure operational regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring that all activities align with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP),
- Implementing an audit program for Pest Control, Food Safety, last-mile delivery, and other relevant areas as required, with facilities audited at defined intervals.
- Conducting audits as scheduled and reporting findings for corrective and preventive actions accordingly.
- Implementation of new legislation, and global food safety programs that may impact the business,
- Actively participating in the smooth launch of new products and categories on e-commerce platforms.
