In a major crackdown on food adulteration, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Gujarat has busted a factory in Mehsana for manufacturing fake paneer. Authorities revealed that the factory was using palm oil and acetic acid as primary ingredients — a dangerous practice that poses serious health risks to consumers.
During the raid, FDA officials collected samples of the adulterated paneer for laboratory testing to determine the extent of contamination. The use of such harmful substances not only compromises food quality but also increases the risk of long-term health issues such as digestive disorders, organ damage, and other chronic illnesses.
An investigation into the factory’s operations is underway to identify the full scale of the malpractice and to hold those responsible accountable.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has reiterated its commitment to protecting public health by enforcing strict quality checks and safety standards in food production. The agency urges citizens to remain alert and to promptly report any suspicious or unhygienic food practices to the authorities.
This incident serves as a reminder of the growing need for vigilance against food fraud and the importance of sourcing food products from trusted and certified suppliers.
