Analytical Chemist – Flavor Lab

- Job Title: Analytical Chemist
- Location: Bangalore
- Department: Analytical / Flavor R&D
- Reporting To: Analytical Manager/ Chief Flavorist
Job Purpose:
To perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of flavor raw materials and finished products using advanced analytical techniques, focusing on diverse flavor analysis and sample cleanup methods to support flavor creation and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as GC-MS and related systems.
- Perform different types of flavor analysis including volatile and semi-volatile profiling.
- Apply sample cleanup techniques (e.g., solvent extraction, filtration) for accurate analysis.
- Work closely with Flavorists to provide analytical insights for creation and matching.
- Conduct basic classical tests (Karl Fischer, RI, Specific Gravity) when required.
- Analyze data and prepare concise reports for flavor development teams.
- Participate in method optimization and troubleshooting for flavor analysis workflows.
- Maintain accurate records of analyses and instrument logs.
- Stay updated with advancements in flavor analysis techniques and tools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in flavor analysis.
- Expertise in GC-MS and understanding of flavor chemistry.
- Knowledge of sample preparation and cleanup methods.
- Basic knowledge of classical analysis methods (Karl Fischer, RI, Specific Gravity).
- Proficiency in data interpretation and reporting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with Flavorists.
