The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Department carried out a major inspection drive in Vrindavan targeting sweet shops over hygiene and food safety concerns. During the campaign, officials checked storage conditions, cleanliness, and overall food handling practices at various establishments.
According to officials, several shops were found maintaining poor hygiene standards and improper storage conditions for sweets. As a result, nearly 200 kilograms of sweets were seized and destroyed to prevent unsafe food from reaching consumers.
The department said the action was taken to ensure public health and encourage food businesses to strictly follow food safety regulations and cleanliness standards. Officials also warned shop owners that strict action will continue against businesses violating hygiene and food safety norms.
The drive is part of the state’s ongoing effort to strengthen food safety monitoring and ensure that consumers receive safe and quality food products.
