Indian FMCG major Marico has announced that it will acquire a 60% stake in Cosmix Wellness at an equity valuation of ₹375 crore, strengthening its presence in the fast-growing wellness and plant-based nutrition market. The company confirmed that it has signed definitive agreements to invest in the digital-first brand, marking another strategic step in its expansion beyond traditional FMCG categories.
Focus on digital-first wellness growth
Cosmix Wellness, founded as a modern health and nutrition brand, has built its identity around vegan, gut-friendly formulations and clean-label products aimed at health-conscious consumers.
Its product portfolio includes:
- Plant-based protein powders
- Fermented yeast protein powders
- Functional superfood blends
- Plant-protein pancake mixes
- Plant-protein snack bars
The company reported a turnover of ₹50.9 crore in FY25 and has already scaled to around ₹100 crore ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) — showing strong traction in India’s growing online wellness segment.
Marico’s bigger strategy behind the deal
This acquisition fits into Marico’s wider strategy of building a strong digital-first brand portfolio. The company has been actively expanding into new-age consumer categories that appeal to younger, fitness-focused, and online buyers.
Recently, Marico also announced the acquisition of the 4700BC premium snacking brand, signaling its aggressive push into health-focused food and lifestyle segments.
According to company leadership, food and premium personal care are expected to contribute about 25% of Marico’s India revenue in the coming years.
Leadership outlook
Marico’s MD & CEO stated that Cosmix adds a differentiated brand to its digital ecosystem, highlighting strong consumer connection and innovation in the plant-based wellness segment. The company sees significant long-term potential in protein and functional nutrition categories as lifestyle habits continue to evolve in India.
Growth ambitions ahead
Marico has crossed the ₹10,000 crore revenue milestone in FY25 and has outlined an ambitious roadmap to become a ₹20,000 crore company by 2030, targeting two-fold growth over the next five years. The Cosmix acquisition is expected to play an important role in achieving this goal by expanding Marico’s footprint in high-growth health and nutrition categories.
