In a significant crackdown on food safety violations, the Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) of Aravalli, Gujarat, in collaboration with the Police Department and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), raided M/s Bapashri Dairy Products in Bhiloda, Aravalli.
The joint operation, aimed at ensuring compliance with food safety standards, resulted in the seizure of over 4.4 tons of ghee and butter suspected to be substandard or adulterated. The confiscated goods are estimated to be worth Rs. 23.74 lakhs.
During the raid, seven samples were collected for further testing and analysis by the FSL team to determine the authenticity and safety of the dairy products.
What raised further concern was the discovery that the dairy firm was operating without a valid license from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This serious regulatory violation has triggered the initiation of legal proceedings against the establishment under the relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The FDCA emphasized its commitment to public health and warned other food businesses that any deviation from the prescribed food safety norms would not be tolerated.

FDCA’s Ongoing Efforts
This raid is part of a broader statewide initiative to curb the production and distribution of adulterated food products, particularly in the dairy sector—a key area of concern due to high consumption rates.
Authorities have urged consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious food items or vendors to the local FDCA offices to ensure safer food practices across Gujarat.
