In a major action against food adulteration, the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Department (UPFDA) conducted a raid at an illegal tea warehouse operating in Lucknow without a valid license. The crackdown is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to curb the sale and distribution of unsafe food products in the state.
During the inspection, officials discovered that the warehouse was involved in storing and possibly distributing adulterated tea leaves. Approximately 8.5 quintals of adulterated tea were seized from the premises. The stock has been confiscated, and further legal proceedings are being initiated against those responsible.
Authorities stated that operating a food business without a valid license is a serious violation under food safety regulations. The department has reiterated its commitment to ensuring strict compliance with food safety standards and preventing unsafe products from reaching consumers.
Officials also emphasized that regular inspections and enforcement drives will continue across Uttar Pradesh to protect public health and maintain food quality standards.
The UPFDA has urged consumers and food business operators to remain vigilant and comply with licensing and safety norms to avoid strict penalties.
