Haldiram’s began as a tiny shop in Bikaner, the land as famed for its savories as for its leather faced pipe players and fierce warriors. By 1982, Haldiram’s had set up shop in Delhi and the capital begun to stop by and take note of the savories and sweets. It was word of mouth that grew the business manifold over the next decade till Haldiram’s stood as a food outlet that was synonymous with taste, hygiene and innovation.
USA was the first market we started exporting to, thanks to the large Indian population there. We began with about 15 products, all savories, because they are favorites among Indians.
What began as a small town enterprise in India is today a global phenomenon. Haldiram’s is a way of life for Indians no matter which country they live in. And the countries they live in are also fast developing a penchant for these products.

Today Haldiram’s is a 4 million dollar brand that is a familiar sight on shelves across the USA, Uk and the Middle East. Non Resident Indians carry back packets of Haldiram’s along with the farewells and nostalgia. This is the name that they look for as they scan shops for familiar scents and sights.
For over sixty years now, we have been unifying the palate of India. It has not been the simplest of tasks; Indian speaks different tongues and has different taste buds to match. However, today, we are a name that has become synonymous with the taste and quality not only within India but the world over.
Today Haldiram’s occupies considerable shelf space at prominent supermarkets the world over: Tesco, Sommerfield, Sipneys and Carrefore. From traditional Indian sweets and savories to the more international chips, cookies, nuts and sherbets, our products are fast capturing the imagination of people making it possible for us to aim for deep penetration in the Middle East, East Europe and parts of North Africa.
FUTURE – Leveraging Our Existing Equity
We plan to leverage our equity in the domestic and international market to become a food corporation with not just branded products under our belt but also restaurants, retail chains and wide portfolio that includes such diverse products as milk- based foods and noodles.
In the near future we hope to be in Algeria, Jordan, Yemen, Taiwan, Columbia, Cyprus, Ukraine, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Armenia, West Indies, Sweden, Finland, and Trinidad & Tobago.
When we started exporting in the year 2001, our figures stood at 1.7mn. Today we export products to the tune of 10.00 mn and hope to sustain a 40 % growth over the next 5 years. That’s why we have increased our production capacity to keep pace.
We have also invested considerably in an advanced processing and packaging unit, which enables us to marry tradition with technology. That’s why no matter whose shelf our products sit on, it always stands on its own.
POSITION : ONLINE QUALITY OFFICER
OBJECTIVE: Performs all assignments in accordance with established food safety and quality policies; including audits like BRC, FSSAI & ISO 22000:2018 and similar, Guidelines to ensure food safety.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes, coordinates, and monitors the laboratory quality system; works closely with section supervisors to plan, schedule, and implement Quality Assurance (QA) related activities; ensures that Laboratory Services meets all requirements of food safety and hygiene.
- Reviews and approves laboratory reports for quality assurance, accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of data.
- Oversees writing and maintenance of the laboratory quality system manual and analytical standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Responsible for handling in-process rejection analysis.
- Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.
- Responsible for quality checking of running batch/products.
- Provides quality Assurance & Control to support all Manufacturing initiatives
- Performs root cause analyses; identifies cost of lost opportunity and the reduction of variation in processes
- Manage entire Documentation related to food and safety standards & practices and other as applicable.
- Monitoring the storage conditions of perishable food items to ensure that they do not spoil prematurely.
- Imparting training to educate the production floor employees on GMP/HACCP/HARPC/Food Safety/FSSC 22000 requirements/ FSSAI requirements.
- Prepares and assists in preparing annual reports and quality reports, for audit purposes as well.
- Keep a check of quality on the Shop floor, making sure that all quality standards are met during production.
Required skill set:
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Microbiology and Food Microbiology, along with working of frozen food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of food safety standards such as BRC/FSMS/FSSAI and ISO22000:2018, GMP, HACCP & HARPC plan and allergen control.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant experience of 1-3 years.
