Mars has officially completed its acquisition of Kellanova, bringing together two iconic businesses and marking a major milestone in the global snacking industry. The move significantly strengthens Mars Snacking, positioning it as one of the most influential players in the market.
Andrew Clarke, Global President of Mars Snacking, described the acquisition as a transformative moment for the company, highlighting the shared legacy of Mars and Kellanova in building category-defining brands.

With the deal complete, the newly expanded Mars Snacking division now features an impressive portfolio that combines Kellanova’s billion-dollar brands with Mars’ global favourites such as Snickers, M&M’s and Twix. The company believes this alignment will unlock strong synergies, enabling enhanced product offerings, faster innovation, and deeper consumer reach across markets.
The acquisition was first announced in August 2024 and has since cleared all required regulatory and shareholder approvals. These included clearances from Kellanova shareholders as well as key regulatory authorities such as the European Commission and the US Federal Trade Commission.
As of 8 December 2025, all regulatory hurdles have been officially cleared, allowing Mars to fully integrate Kellanova’s extensive brand portfolio into its global operations.
Industry observers see the deal as a strategic step that not only expands Mars’ snacking footprint but also reinforces its long-term focus on sustainability, innovation, and growth in an increasingly competitive global food market.
