Role Overview:

The Manager – Operations is responsible for executing and managing daily production activities across the FFP and Sauces manufacturing lines. The role ensures adherence to
food safety, quality, cost, and delivery parameters while maintaining high standards of safety and discipline. The incumbent drives operational efficiency, builds team capability,
and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve business targets and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute daily production operations to meet planned output, quality, and safety standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to GMP, hygiene, and food safety protocols during all production activities.
  • Monitor line performance parameters such as OEE, yield, and downtime; implement corrective actions as required.
  • Plan and manage manpower deployment, shift allocation, and task distribution to optimize productivity.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Q&FS, Planning, and Stores to ensure equipment readiness and material availability.
  • Drive implementation and sustenance of TPM and Lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor.
  • Conduct line audits, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with statutory and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Develop team capability through regular coaching, on-the-job training, and performance feedback.
  • Identify and implement improvement projects to reduce cost, waste, and process variability.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting, documentation, and traceability as per SOPs.
  • Support new product trials, equipment commissioning, and factory initiatives related to efficiency improvement.
  • Promote employee engagement, collaboration, and ownership within the team to build a high-performance culture.

Job Qualification & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Food Technology, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
    (Preferably Food Technology)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in FMCG / food processing industry.
  • Exposure to TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Food Safety Management Systems preferred.
  • Experience in shift-based manufacturing operations in a unionized setup desirable.

  • Comprehensive understanding of food manufacturing processes and equipment operations.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach.
  • Focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage diverse teams and maintain high morale under pressure.
  • Adaptability and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
