Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
A good academic record with Master’s Degree (minimum 55% in case of science fields/ minimum 60% in case of Engineering Disciplines – as per UGC/AICTE as applicable) in the appropriate branch* of Science/ Engineering/ Technology in Food science/ Technology or allied subjects.
Master of Engineering/ Technology in Food Engineering/ Food Process Engineering/Dairy Engineering/ Dairy and Food Engineering/ Post Harvest Process and Food Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/ Bioprocess Engineering/ Food Process Engineering and Management or a combination of any of these or related specialization will only be considered.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR/ ICAR in relevant subject. Not with standing anything above, the candidates, who have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D Degree), Regulations 2009, as amended from time to time, shall be exempted from the requisite of NET qualification.
NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programme in disciplines for which NET is not conducted.
Desirable:
a) Teaching, research and/ or industrial experience in a reputed government organization enlisted by Government of India.
b) Paper presented/published at Conferences and/ or published in refereed journals.
General Instructions:
- The Position is purely on Contract basis initially for one year and extendable as per requirement of the Institute.

- The selected candidates shall be entitled to a consolidated salary as mentioned against each position. No additional allowances such as DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, etc., shall be payable.
- The upper age limit shall be as indicated for each position and will be counted as on the last date of submission of the application.
- Applicants are requested to send the copies of all certificates, marksheets, evidence of teaching, research, Ph.D., NET certificates, copies of reprints of published articles, certificate containing the record of date of birth etc along with the prescribed application form.
- Incomplete application form without photograph, signatures and other documents shall be summarily rejected. NIFTEM shall not entertain any correspondence in case of incomplete information and evidences.
- No correspondence regarding consideration of late applications will be entertained.
- The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible to interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
- Short-listing of the candidates will be done largely on the pattern prescribed by UGC.
- The eligibility of the candidates will be determined on the basis of qualifications / experience / publications etc. acquired by them up to the last date fixed for receipt of applications.
- NIFTEM reserves the right to Not to fill up any of the advertised position(s) / modify/ withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidate(s) at any stage in the process of selection in case any inadvertent mistake is detected even after issue of appointment letter.
- The last date for submission of applications in all respects shall be 15/07/2025.
- An undertaking to be given by the candidate mentioning that ‘the publications submitted by them are free from any plagiarism and if any plagiarism is found later, their candidature / selection shall stand rejected/ cancelled.
- As per the UGC communication dated 21st September 2016, “if the M.Phil/Ph.D. degree is awarded by a Foreign University, the Indian Institution considering such a degree shall refer the issue to a Standing Committee constituted by the concerned institution for the purpose of determining the equivalence of the degree awarded by the foreign University”.
