UPSC is a Constitutional Body under Article 315-323 Part XIV Chapter II of the Constitution of India to discharge their duties, functions and obligations assigned under Article 320. The UPSC conducts various examinations in accordance with the Rules of examination as notified by the Government of India in a just, fair and impartial manner for making a merit based selection and recommendation of candidates for various Group A and Group B Services of the Govt. of India.

| Essential Qualification (s) | A. Educational- i) Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Industrial Hygiene from a recognized University or ii) Bachelors Degree in Biochemical Engineering from a recognized University. Note- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. B. Experience- Two years experience in the field of Industrial Hygiene in chemical analysis of samples in a research institution. |

| Duty(ies) | i. Conducting small independent studies in the field of Industrial Hygiene and helping in major project work. ii. Assisting in conducting training programs. iii. Collection of review material pertaining to the activities of the Division. iv. Assisting in compilation of reports and returns. |
| Probation | 01 (One) year Note- There shall be a mandatory induction training of at least two weeks duration for successful completion of probations prescribed by the Central Government. |
