In a major step toward sustainable packaging, UFlex Ltd, India’s largest flexible packaging company, has launched a single-pellet solution for food and beverage packaging made from recycled PET (rPET). The innovation is FSSAI-compliant, simplifying the process of incorporating recycled content in food-grade applications.
This cutting-edge solution blends recycled PET with virgin PET in a single pellet, removing the need for separate material mixing by manufacturers. The result? High-purity pellets with superior mechanical and thermal stability, ideal for packaging that must meet strict food safety standards.
“The single-pellet solution will be a game-changer for food and beverage brands striving to meet EPR compliance under the new FSSAI guidelines,” said Ashish Saxena, Joint President, Packaging Films Business, UFlex Ltd.
This launch aligns with India’s growing focus on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and supports the industry’s shift toward scalable, sustainable production. The move also strengthens UFlex’s position as a global leader in sustainable packaging.
As part of its broader green strategy, UFlex recently announced investments in two new recycling plants in Noida, further cementing its commitment to India’s plastic waste management vision. The company has also earned USFDA approval for recycling rPET, rPE, and rPP for food-contact packaging.
“We are setting benchmarks for responsible production not just in India, but globally,” added Saxena.
With recycling plants across India, Poland, Egypt, and Mexico, UFlex is the only Indian company offering innovative PCR and flexible waste recycling solutions worldwide — pushing boundaries in sustainable packaging innovation.
