In Jhansi, the Food Safety Department of Uttar Pradesh carried out a strict enforcement drive and seized a consignment of suspected adulterated paneer during a checking operation on the Jhansi–Datia highway.
🚨 How was it detected?
During routine vehicle inspections, officials noticed irregularities in the quality of paneer being transported. On suspicion, samples were immediately collected and sent for laboratory testing. To prevent any risk to public health, more than 150 kg of suspected contaminated paneer was destroyed on the spot.
⚖️ What happens next?
Further action will depend on the lab test results. If the paneer is confirmed to be unsafe or adulterated, strict legal action will be taken against the supplier or vendor under the guidelines of FSSAI.
🛡️ Why this matters
Food adulteration poses serious health risks and is a punishable offense. Such proactive inspections help ensure food safety, protect consumers, and maintain the integrity of the food supply chain.
