The role involves executing the Regulatory affairs strategy as per TCPL policy for various food categories and geographical area, including India, using regulatory expertise and ensure TCPL product portfolio are in compliance with regulatory and Organization policy.
What are the Key Objectives and Deliverables in this role?
Financial Outcomes:
- Minimize financial impact of regulatory changes to Business through various actions/choices responses.
- Identify and optimize financial implications of regulatory components on product. packaging and promotions.
Customer Service:
- Independently handle regulatory aspects of specific projects from concept to launch-
- Manage the food licensing for various products and operations.
- Manage requisite regulatory approvals/clearances for products, ingredients, and processes as per regulatory requirements.
- Manage responses to regulatory enforcement challenges and support Legal in dealing with the enforcement issues.
- Support Customer Care team on regulatory and compliance related queries for Consumers.
- Carry out preliminary regulatory assessment to support various New Product Development Projects, collaborate with R&D teams to generate
and integrate information that support regulatory approvals. - Keep the stakeholders updated on the changes in the regulatory environment and identify the opportunities/challenges forthe innovation
efforts. - Interface with R&D teams to ensure smooth integration of regulatory concerns in various projects
Internal Processes:
- Ensure timely action and response to NPD requirements on ingredient, packaging material, finished goods and processes.
- Responsible for compliance of all product labels, claims and advertisements.
- Support Operations and Quality Assurance by providing timely regulatory guidance to ensure compliant functioning.
- Support, facilitate and respond to findings of Internal/External audit of Regulatory functioning and processes.
- Build and sustain networks within team and with external/internal stakeholders.
- Assist in review and interpretation of relevant regulations.
- Efficiently handle large amount of data and analyze the same for desired applications.
- Collate and maintain repository of various key information.
- Assist activities required for domestic compliances with respect to relevant to Food safety and quality requirements.
Innovation and Learning:
- Responsible for working with the R&D team and Regulatory team on Scientific Claims development through various NPD models.
- Foster agility in responding to the routine regulatory needs of the organization.
- Leverage digital tools to optimize the functioning of the team
What are the Critical success factors for the Role?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in areas of food science, food technology, agriculture, nutritional science or life sciences with majors in Food
Science and Nutrition. - 8 to 10+ years of experience in the fields related to regulatory compliance-governance in food/ beverages/Nutraceutical, preferably in the
Asia/lndian Subcontinent/ other regulatory jurisdictions. - Experience in independently handling regulatory compliances in various categories of food and beverage products like include Foods,
Beverages, Water, Dietary Supplements and Nutraceuticals. - Demonstrated experience in independently handling Organic products portfolio.
- Significant working knowledge in the fields of food safety-scientific and regulations interpretations, risk analysis and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience ofworking with multiple stakeholders related to food industry.
