In an official statement, Nestlé confirmed that around 12 tonnes of KitKat products were stolen while in transit between its manufacturing facility in Central Italy and their final destination in Poland. The incident has raised concerns around logistics security but has not impacted consumers.
According to the company, the theft occurred during the transportation phase of its supply chain. Nestlé has not disclosed the exact location or timing of the incident but emphasized that immediate action was taken once the situation came to light.
Nestlé further stated that it is working closely with local law enforcement authorities and supply chain partners to investigate the matter thoroughly. The company is committed to identifying those responsible and strengthening its transportation and security protocols to avoid such incidents in the future.
Reassuring consumers, Nestlé highlighted that there are no safety concerns associated with the stolen products. Since the issue is limited to theft during transit, it does not involve any contamination, quality compromise, or manufacturing defect.
Importantly, the company also confirmed that product availability and market supply remain unaffected, ensuring that customers across regions will continue to receive KitKat products without disruption.
Nestlé concluded its statement by thanking stakeholders for their continued trust and reaffirming its focus on product safety, operational transparency, and supply chain integrity.
