Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – NIFTEM, Kundli

NIFTEM is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) Government of India. MoFPI in its Vision document-2015, envisaged creation of a world-class institution to cater to the various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, food processing industry, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institution.

NIFTEM will work actively for assisting in setting up food standards, businesses incubation and can also include knowledge sharing. It would also be an apex institution.

Our Mission is to “transform NIFTEM to IIFTEM (International Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) through creating entrepreneurship among the students, farmers, FPOs, rural and urban youth”

NIFTEM, Kundli was established under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India in the year 2012 to provide a conducive ecosystem for education, research, industrial promotion, support and entrepreneurship in the food processing sector. Over more than a decade, NIFTEM, Kundli has emerged as a leading academic and research Institute in different aspects of food science and technology.The Institute has been a harbinger in academic innovations, peer-reviewed research publications in high impact factor (IF) journals, filing patents, obtaining research grants from external sources, developing technologies and creating entrepreneurship in Food Processing.

Applications are invited for the position of JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) on contract basis for the externally-funded CRO project at NIFTEM, Kundli.

Project name – “Development of biodegradable packaging material and antimicrobial films for
Prolonged Shelf Life of Perishable Food Products”

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc in Food Technology/Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Nutrition /Food engineering
AND
M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc in Food Technology/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Nutrition/ Food engineering/ Printing and packaging Technology and allied courses. Selected
through a process described through any one of the following:
a) Selected through National Eligibility Tests CSIR/UGC NET (including
Lectureship) and GATE.
OR
b) Selected through National Level Examinations conducted by Central
Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

• Emoluments per Month – ₹35,000 + 9% HRA
• Duration – 1 Year (12 Months)

Desirable:

1. Candidates having knowledge and experience in Microbiology, Food
   processing and preservation, Packaging, Food Safety, Toxicology,
   handling analytical equipments.
2. A strong commitment and motivation to pursue research in the subject area
   and having good communication skills.

General Information:

1. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be given to candidates for
   attending the interview.
2. The date and time ofinterview will be informed later to the candidates by email only.Candidates
   should appear for interview along with their original certificates and other relevant documents.
3. Selected candidate is also permitted to register for Ph.D. program in NIFTEM-K as per eligibility
   and selection procedure.

The position is temporary and for a maximum of 1 year only without any extension.
