ICAR-IARI Dharwad Recruitment 2026 | Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Vacancies
The ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Regional Research Centre, Dharwad, Karnataka, has invited applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions under two prestigious ANRF-funded research projects. The positions are purely contractual, temporary, and research-oriented.
🧪 Available Positions
1️⃣ Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Project: Enhancing Soybean Rust Resistance in DSb23 through Gene Pyramiding and Early Generation Marker-Assisted Selection

2️⃣ Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Project: Mapping and Fine Mapping of Genomic Regions Associated with Dry Root Rot Disease Resistance in Chickpea
Vacancies: 01
💰 Fellowship
- ₹37,000 per month + 20% HRA (1st & 2nd Year)
- ₹42,000 per month + 20% HRA (3rd Year as SRF)
🎓 Essential Qualification
Candidates must possess:
- Postgraduate Degree in Basic Sciences
OR
- Graduate/Postgraduate Degree in Professional Courses such as:
- Plant Pathology
- Genetics & Plant Breeding
Candidates should have been selected through:
- CSIR-UGC NET / GATE
OR
- National-level examinations conducted by agencies such as DST, DBT, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, DRDO, etc.
⭐ Desirable Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:
- Disease screening of field crops
- Pathogen isolation and inoculation techniques
- Disease scoring and evaluation
- Molecular marker genotyping
