Heritage Foods has inaugurated a new greenfield ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet near Hyderabad, Telangana, marking a significant step in strengthening its value-added dairy portfolio. The new plant is designed to support the company’s growing ice cream business and expand its presence in key regional markets.
The facility is equipped with automated production systems and advanced quality control infrastructure, enabling efficient operations while maintaining consistent product quality. These modern technologies will allow the company to enhance manufacturing efficiency and meet increasing consumer demand for premium ice cream products.
The plant currently has an installed production capacity of around 24 million litres per annum, with provisions to expand capacity in the future based on market demand. Heritage Foods stated that the facility will help scale its ice cream operations significantly over the next several years.
According to the company, its ice cream segment currently generates approximately ₹100 crore in annual revenue. With the addition of the Shamirpet facility, Heritage Foods aims to expand production capacity up to five times within the next seven to eight years, strengthening its position in the competitive dairy and frozen dessert market.
The company also noted that the new facility will help expand its value-added dairy product portfolio, improve manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen distribution networks across South and Western India, where demand for packaged dairy products continues to grow.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Bhuvaneswari, Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Heritage Foods, said the commissioning of the Shamirpet plant represents an important milestone in the company’s growth journey. She emphasized that the facility will enable the company to introduce innovative products while maintaining the quality and trust associated with the Heritage brand.
Heritage Foods operates across 14 states in India and offers a wide range of dairy products including milk, curd, butter, paneer, and other value-added products.
In its financial performance for Q3 FY26, the company reported a 20% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹346 crore, compared with ₹431 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. However, revenue from operations increased by 8% year-on-year to ₹11,192 crore, indicating continued growth in its business operations.
