The Delhi Milk Scheme (DMS) has taken a major step forward in boosting dairy quality and expanding its reach with the launch of new Cow Milk and co-branded dairy products. The initiative, unveiled on August 13 at the NASC Complex in Pusa, New Delhi, also saw the distribution of 22 booth allotment letters to selected applicants, creating fresh employment opportunities and strengthening the rural–urban dairy network.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), including Smt. Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, DAHD, who digitally launched the new dairy products in collaboration with the Haryana Milk Federation. She emphasized that these new offerings are aimed at reinforcing consumer trust, supporting livestock farmers, and strengthening the dairy value chain.
Ms. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary, DAHD, underlined the importance of the DMS brand in the Delhi NCR region and expressed optimism about its growth with the addition of these new products.
The occasion also brought together key figures from the dairy sector, including Shri Rama Shankar Sinha and Shri Jagat Hazarika, both Additional Secretaries at DAHD, and Sh. Ram Avtar Garg, Chairman of Vita under the Haryana Dairy Development Co-Operative Federation Ltd. Stakeholders and beneficiaries praised the initiative for its potential to enhance dairy availability and promote local employment.
With the introduction of these products and new booths, the Delhi Milk Scheme is reinforcing its legacy while adapting to modern market demands — ensuring fresh, high-quality milk and dairy products reach more consumers across the region.
