About the job:
- Licious is seeking Asst. Manager-Innovation & Application Development for their Meat Vertical.
- Based out of the Licious HQ in Bengaluru, you will have the unique opportunity to work across
- different categories which will expose you to broader experiences in product development. .
- This role offers a high level of cross-functional exposure and opportunity to work across the organization.
- In addition, you will accelerate the team’s external focus and perspective in pursuit of innovative products and solutions. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive environment in a high energy environment,emphasizing employee development,
empowerment and high performance.
Responsibilities:
● Lead a team of Food Scientists and Food Technologists in support of the Value-Added, RTE/RTC Meat and seafood focused business vertical.
● Provide technical guidance for Innovation, renovation and application initiatives..
● Extending meat and fish expertise, into sourcing and processing of raw materials.
● Developing compounds for binding, flavoring, colouring, to scale up developed products from laboratory to Industrial production.
● Product network management which includes dynamic stakeholder management.
● Proof point testing of technical solutions in applications.
● Hands-on development of new concepts and formulations.
● Provide, analyse, and execute cost-savings/ optimisation ideas across categories.
● Development of spices and seasoning inhouse and sourcing the formulations through 3P vendors.
● Partnering with functional ingredient suppliers, exploring the interaction of ingredients, including ingredients such as Proteins,fibres, Starches, stabilisers, and flavours, their impact on the final product.
● Working closely together with marketing, Regulatory and Quality teams to identify and grow new opportunities in the Plant-Based Meat segment.
● Developing new products for Pet food segment under guidance of veterinarians and a pet nutritionists.
Travel Requirements:
● Estimated at 30%. Travel is required to various Licious/ OEM locations, vendor meetings or other job-related functions.
Must have:
● Hands-on experience or an understanding of areas of Meat Processing, Meat-based RTE and RTC, Breaded Meats and Marinades, Protein Blends, Protein Functionalities and synergies between ingredient matrices is a must. Experience or understanding of packaging concepts or of packaging materials.
● Demonstrated leadership in all phases of product development and commercialisation process. Prior management experience with direct reports of various experience and skill levels
Education & Experience:
● A Bachelor’s in Food Science with 6 Years’ experience in the Food Industry
OR
● Master’s in food science with 4 Years’ experience in the Food Industry.
